The Watch Begins at the Door.

The Guardian Home panel ships with a threshold sensor array covering every door and window opening, an approach camera grid covering a minimum 270-degree external perimeter, and automated dispatch keyed directly to the Watchtower coordinator authority grid. The display reads SECURED in IBM Plex Mono, navy on warm grey. At night it dims to a single warm point — the only warm light Guardian's marketing photography permits inside the protected home. (This is not an accident.)

Subscription tiers determine the depth of coverage. Watch is the entry position: sensors plus automated response. Watch+ adds Guardian Alert dispatch monitoring. Perimeter adds Watchdog drone overflight and tamper-verified intake integration. Perimeter+ adds a Senior Protection Coordinator on-call. Most households enter at Watch. Most households do not stay there long.

Cross-network integration with Aegis intake verification and the Guardian Family app is standard on all tiers. Chain-of-custody attestation runs continuously. Cancellation is available in fourteen steps under the Guardian Household Subscription Compact.

Guardian's marketing department refers to the panel as "the first conversation," and the language is precise. The panel is not the product. The panel is the introduction. Customer acquisition cost is ¢340. Average lifetime customer value is ¢94,000. The gap between those two numbers is the actual engineering feat — not the sensor array, not the Watchdog drone, but the conversion sequence that begins the moment an installer-tier officer bolts the panel to the wall and doesn't leave until the next four subscriptions have been recommended.

The cross-sell sequence is not improvised. It is specified on page 412 of the Guardian Home Installer Protocol Manual: Aegis intake verification, Guardian Shield personal devices, Guardian Training enrollment — in that order, during the same household visit, before the installer's boots are back on the mat. The household opted into a panel. The Protocol Manual opted them into a perimeter.

Guardian Home gives households a panel reading SECURED and a perimeter nobody can see the edges of. Financial security for the family, provided they can keep paying for it. Heavy navy plastic. Larger and thicker than the technology requires. The housing is matte; the screen is anti-reflective; the mounting bolts are visible. Guardian's industrial design brief describes the panel's intended affect as "institutional warmth — the fire extinguisher you are grateful is bolted to the wall."

It is the first thing a child sees when they wake up in the dark. It is the last thing the parent checks before turning off the hall light. It glows navy until the perimeter is confirmed, then dims to a warm point that the marketing team calls "the settled-shoulders light." They are not wrong about what it does to a room.

Guardian Home is the most widely installed security panel in the Dregs. The households installing it are not wealthy. They are households who have decided that the door not holding is an unacceptable risk and ¢340 is a price they can meet. Guardian's internal segmentation data does not distinguish between genuine threat reduction and threat perception — both purchase the same panel, trigger the same cross-sell sequence, and enter the same ¢94,000 lifecycle projection.

The panel integrates with Aegis intake verification, which means Guardian holds biometric entry data for everyone who crosses a Guardian Home threshold. The chain-of-custody attestation runs continuously. The data does not belong to the household. The subscription compact is clear on this point, at the end, in the smaller text.

Every Watchdog drone overflight on the Perimeter tier logs patrol data to the Watchtower grid. The household paid for the drone. Guardian retains the flight data. Both parties consider the arrangement fair. One of them negotiated it.
