The Feast
The Feast is a distributed network of Dregs kitchens, shelter arrangements, couriers, and neighborhood protectors.
Overview
The Feast is called an army by people who notice how quickly its kitchens can move information, shelter a family, or close a block to an intruder. Its members usually call it dinner. The network grows wherever a dependable meal makes corporate scarcity look like a choice rather than a law.
Connections
The Chef leads the Feast without ranks or speeches. He feeds people first, remembers who needs medicine or a safe bed, and lets reliability become authority. The network is a tenant of kitchens and service bays throughout The Dregs, allied with GG when its routes need protection and with El Money when information must move faster than food. Couriers carry surplus into the Deep Dregs where corporate provisioning fails completely. That method makes the Feast both mutual aid and political force: a neighborhood that can meet its own needs has less reason to obey whoever withheld them.
The network's clearest territorial gain predates the current Chef by over a decade. During the Three-Week War โ the twenty-one days in 2171 when Nexus Dynamics and Ironclad Industries fought over the Sector 12-G aquifer while both corporate securities stayed pointed at each other โ an earlier iteration of the network absorbed two districts on the eastern flats by doing the one thing neither belligerent had spare attention for: continuing to feed people. Both corporations listed the districts as contested through the war's third week. The residents had already stopped waiting to find out who won.
It builds loyalty through material reliability rather than tickets, doctrine, or formal enlistment.
The Chef leads by feeding people first, turning continued participation into the network's practical consent.
