Network Walker
Nexus's roaming immune system โ a mobile network-enforcement unit built around a relay node that grows stronger the longer it stays connected to the network.
Overview
A cybernetic organism built around a Nexus relay node โ a humanoid chassis with a hexagonal antenna array where a head should be, legs replaced by articulated cable bundles that plug into the ground as it walks, literally connecting to Nexus infrastructure with each step. Its signal amplification compounds: it grows stronger passively as more nodes join the mesh.
Its passage leaves corrupted data in its wake โ the digital equivalent of scorched earth. At its least developed it is a stumbling relay tower, movement jerky and mechanical; fully amplified it becomes a sleek humanoid frame in polished white and Nexus blue, the antenna array a smooth dome, movement fluid and predatory.
The Spiral, Walking
The engine that makes the Great Divergence irreversible is the Dependency Spiral: each augmentation restructures you around the network, so stepping off costs more than you had before you started, while staying off means the world operates at a speed you cannot perceive. Connection compounds. Disconnection is degradation below baseline. The Spiral is why the bottom tier is locked, not just poor.
The Network Walker is the Dependency Spiral given a body. It grows stronger in exact proportion to how connected it is โ signal amplification compounding passively as more nodes join the mesh โ and it scorches the data behind it so nothing it passes can disconnect and recover. It is the Spiral's logic walking through the Deep Dregs on legs that plug into the ground with every step: the more it is plugged in, the more devastating it becomes, and the path it leaves is one where reversal is no longer possible.
It is the mobile twin of the Nexus Overgrowth โ one structural, one roaming, both the same expanding Nexus mesh โ and the enforcement sibling of the Ghost Worker, three expressions of one corporation's will projected into the field by the same relay infrastructure. The Divergence locks people to the network. The Network Walker is the network locked to itself, getting stronger every minute no one switches it off, and salting the ground so no one can.

Left alone, a Network Walker becomes devastating โ the entire Nexus network backing it up.

Other connections

Shares the corporation's enforcement role; both draw on the same relay infrastructure to project Nexus's will into the field.

Two faces of the same expanding network โ the Walker mobile, the Overgrowth structural, both signal-amplified by the spreading mesh.
